Mission Grit® — The School of Character
Mission Grit® is a revolutionary youth development concept rooted in experiential learning—where children learn by doing, solving, and engaging with real-life skills. Our philosophy is born from a Special Forces–inspired foundation and refined through years of hands-on experience, innovation, and unwavering dedication to youth, families, and our community.
Every mission, activity, and team challenge becomes a powerful life lesson, building resilience, leadership, and real-world problem-solving skills. Through purposeful physical challenges, obstacle courses, collaborative teamwork, and guided reflection, we create an environment where growth is visible, confidence is earned, and character is forged.

About Paul Plotkin, the founder of Mission Grit™:
My self-realization journey began with having the privilege to serve in the military, where I discovered various ways of overcoming physical and mental hardships, and how from complete strangers people become more than one family to another with the power of teamwork and devotion. I am forever grateful for the friendships and the life lessons that have been given to me during my service.
Fast forward and here I am building businesses and meeting great people. Through my business establishments, I had the opportunity to work with influential individuals that came from Entrepreneurial, Religious, Political, Scientific, Educational and Defense spheres. With their permission I was able to interview them and have open philosophical discussions about personal growth and leadership. These lessons have helped me to adopt powerful habits and deepen my life philosophy. These impactful life lessons have led me to realize that everything I did was only making a “local impact”, which led me to think more about what I wanted for my children, and for children that will be growing up with them, and what world they will all be living in. ... As a result of these thinkinings Back in 2010 I followed my passion and began working with children and youth organizations. Since that time I have fully devoted myself to discover and build child development concepts that are rich in depth, impactful and nurture children to explore their full potential. Since that moment I have had the privilege to establish multiple successful child development facilities, meet thousands of children and their parents, involve with community projects and to constantly push the boundaries of my training platforms forward.
After more than a decade since I followed my passion I am positive that the new generations to come will have the confidence, leadership, grit, and the skills to positively impact our world, one generation at time.
I am proud and excited to be part of the Charlotte community, and to build together a new concept that is more powerful than ever before.

ABOUT OUR TEAM
We are proud to employ military veterans who bring a wealth of leadership experience, discipline, and service values to our mission. Our carefully selected instructors undergo rigorous training within our Instructor Development Academy, where they go far beyond learning how to teach physical skills. They are trained to be powerful mentors — individuals who inspire, lead with purpose, build strong relationships with families, and foster a deep sense of community. Every instructor is dedicated to guiding children toward their greatness, ensuring each student feels seen, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential.

FOOTPRINT
The footprint represents a path and a way of conducting yourself, with people and in situations. It is your personal responsibility to make a positive change in the world and leave it better than it used to be.
TWO LETTERS
There are two letters, an M and G. These are the first letters of our name Mission Grit™.
THE ARROW
The arrow represents a sense of direction, a compass that helps us to navigate through the walks of life while staying focused on our goals.
TEAM OF FIVE
One of our core values is to teach children the art of teamwork through team building challenges and life lessons. This is represented with five people working together.
THE LAB TUBE
The lab tube represents science, expiremnantion, innovation and progression. We believe that children need to be encouraged to learn how to think, not what to think. Dare systems and bring innovation through trial and error. Think creatively, experiment, and learn how to follow through when things don’t go smoothly.
LEADERSHIP
Leadership is represented by the large-scale individual that is creating relationships with the team, leading team members on their journey, and taking responsibilities upon themself.

Our activities combine natural and social sciences - blending physics, engineering tools, and social interaction - to create unique, hands-on learning experiences.
