What Makes the Xplor Program Different

Beyond

The Xplor Program is not just an after school extracurricular class, it’s the school of character experience. It is designed to take direct action and help children to grow confident, strong, adventuristic, and accountable leaders. While many programs focus on convenience or passive play, Xplor is built to engage both mind and body in a highly structured environment that is the core to daily life discipline. Every day brings a new challenge: high speed obstacle courses, adventured themed activities, problem-solving missions, and team-building tasks that inspire curiosity, determination and social skills. We don’t just fill time, we ignite growth.

Growth of Body, Mind, and Character

Xplor was designed for whole-child development. It strengthens the body through active play and obstacle movement, challenges the mind through structured problem-solving, and shapes character through teamwork and reflection. Children learn to communicate, take initiative, and show empathy — discovering that real strength comes not from competition, but from cooperation.

At Mission Grit®, the Xplor Program is more than an activity —
It’s a journey that builds confident, capable, and compassionate young leaders.

About the Xplor Program

The School of Character Experience

The Xplor Program isn’t just an after-school class, it’s a school of character in action. Designed to help children grow into confident, strong, adventurous, and accountable leaders, Xplor goes far beyond convenience or play.

Each session blends physical challenge with mental engagement in a highly structured, purpose-driven environment that builds real-world discipline. Every day brings a new adventure: high-speed obstacle courses, themed missions, hands-on problem-solving, and teamwork challenges that spark curiosity, determination, and social connection.

Learning Through Action

At Mission Grit®, we believe children learn best by doing. As a leader in experiential learning, our creative and innovative team is constantly designing unique, adventure-driven experiences inspired by real life, science, and exploration.

The Xplor Program transforms every obstacle, challenge, and scenario into a meaningful lesson. Whether students are engineering a pulley system, navigating a team maze, or completing a leadership challenge, they’re developing critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity through hands-on action.

These lessons stick because they’re lived, not lectured.

Adventure with a higher purpose

At Mission Grit®, we believe the most powerful lessons are the ones you live, not just the ones you hear. Our curriculum is built on experiential learning — where knowledge is gained through direct, hands-on engagement in realistic, high-energy scenarios. By placing children in dynamic situations that require problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership under pressure, we bridge the gap between theory and real-world application. This approach ensures that what our students learn here becomes part of who they are — skills and values that naturally transfer into school, sports, and life.

FAQ

MIssion Grit General Questions
What is the Xplor Program, and how is it structured?

The Xplor Program is our year-round developmental class system. Each class is structured to work on four dimensions: physical, mental, social, and character.

What plans do you offer for classes?

We offer flexible options to fit your family’s schedule:

  • Monthly memberships ranging from 1 class per week up to 3 classes per week
  • Prepaid 5-session passes for added convenience and flexibility

You may cancel a plan at any time in accordance with our terms and conditions. Accounts can also be placed on short- or long-term hold if needed.

Do children need prior athletic experience to join?

Not at all. Our program is designed to meet kids where they are,  building strength, confidence, and skills step by step.

How do classes help with physical, mental, social, and character development?
  • Physical: Obstacle courses and challenges build fitness and coordination.
  • Mental: Problem-solving games sharpen focus and creativity.
  • Social: Team missions strengthen communication and cooperation.
  • Character: Guided reflection builds resilience, respect, and responsibility.
Is Mission Grit® good for kids with ADD/ADHD?

Absolutely! Mission Grit® is designed to support children with different learning styles and energy levels, including those with ADD/ADHD. Our structured, fast-paced environment and obstacle-course format naturally keep kids engaged and moving, while our instructors provide clear guidance, consistency, and encouragement. We focus on building confidence, teamwork, and self-regulation through purposeful challenges..

Camps

1. What does a typical day at camp look like?

Each camp day includes a dynamic mix of obstacle courses, team challenges, problem-solving games, goal-oriented relay activities and so much more. We also incorporate special visits from Real-Life Heroes, firefighters, police officers, and medical practitioners—who share their experiences and wisdom from the line of duty. This combination of action and inspiration keeps the kids engaged, learning, and growing every single day.

2. Are your camps focused on fun, character development, or both?

Both. Our camps are designed to be exciting and full of adventure, and every activity is intentional teaching life skills such as grit, leadership, teamwork, and resilience. Kids have a blast while building character that lasts well beyond camp.

3. Do you offer single-day options, or only full-week camps?

We offer both. Summer camps are week-long to maximize developmental impact. However, during the school year we offer no-school-day camps, winter camps, teacher work days, holiday camps, that are a single-day option.

4. What are the hours of the camps?

We offer full-day camps only, as half-day options do not provide the depth of growth and development we intentionally build into our program.

  • Drop-off: 8:00–9:00 AM
  • Pick-up: 3:00–4:00 PM

This schedule ensures children have the time and space to fully immerse themselves in the Mission Grit® experience.

5. Do you provide food in the camps?

We do not provide food at camp. Please pack a nutritious lunch, one snack, and a water bottle each day. We encourage healthy meals to keep campers energized and ready for the physical and mental challenges of the day.

6. What ages are eligible to participate in Mission Grit® camps?

No-School Day Camps: Ages 6+ , Summer Camps: Ages 7+

Birthday Parties

1. What makes a Mission Grit® birthday party different from other venues?

Our parties are 100% private, obstacle-course-driven adventures led by instructors. Kids get to feel like heroes on missions, and the birthday child is the star of the show! We also include a special sword cake-cutting ceremony.

2. How many children can attend, and what is the age range?

Our birthday parties can accommodate up to 25 children. If you are planning for more guests, please contact us directly to discuss options.

3. What activities are included in the birthday party experience?

Instructor-led obstacle courses, teambuilding missions, fun challenges, and the special sword cake-cutting ceremony.

4. Can we bring our own food, and cake?

Yes, families are encouraged to bring their own food, cake, and drinks. As we don’t provide any food items.

5. Can we bring decorations?

Yes! You’re welcome to bring balloons, your own tablecloth, or themed paper goods to make the party unique. Please note that decorations cannot be hung on the walls,  they must be self-standing.

6. What is provided by Mission Grit®?

Full party table setup, including tablecloth, paper plates, forks, and napkins. Our paper goods are neutral white, so if you’d like a specific theme or color, you’re welcome to bring your own.

7. How long is the private party slot?

Each private birthday party is scheduled for 90 minutes of celebration time:

  • 60 minutes of instructor-led activities and obstacle course challenges
  • 30 minutes for the special sword cake-cutting ceremony, food, and a final course

Families may arrive 10 minutes early for setup, and we understand it may take an additional 10–15 minutes to wrap up and depart. Altogether, your event typically lasts close to 2 hours from arrival to departure. During departure, our team immediately begins cleaning and resetting the facility to prepare for the next event.

8. Do parents stay or just drop off?

Most parents enjoy staying to watch the celebration, but drop-off is also an option as long as the party host is comfortable with it. Since the party is fully guided by our instructors, parents are welcome to relax, socialize, and enjoy their time while the kids have fun.

Team-Building Events

We host team-building events for schools, scouting troops, sports teams, church groups, and other youth organizations. Any group of kids looking to strengthen cooperation, communication, and leadership skills while having fun will benefit from the Mission Grit® experience.

2. Would Mission Grit® host an adult team-building event?

No. Mission Grit® works exclusively with children, where we believe we can make the greatest impact. While we have the ability to create powerful team-building experiences for adults, our focus and mission remain fully dedicated to youth development.

3. What kind of challenges or activities are included in these events?

Obstacle courses, problem-solving missions, team relay challenges, and activities designed to test communication, trust, and leadership.

4. How do your team-building events help kids learn cooperation and leadership?

We design missions and scenarios that can only be completed through teamwork. These challenges push kids to communicate clearly, delegate responsibilities, and step up as leaders, all while having the time of their lives. By experiencing both the struggle and the success together, kids naturally develop cooperation, trust, and leadership skills that carry over into everyday life.

5. Can events be customized for specific groups (schools, scouts, sports teams)?

Yes, absolutely. We tailor challenges and missions to fit the age group, size, and goals of the organization.

6. How long do team-building events usually last?

Our typical team-building event lasts about one hour, but events can be extended or customized based on your organization’s needs. To create a tailored experience for your group, please contact us directly.
